Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu specialist Gabriel Gonzaga and All-American Wrestler Branden Lee Hinkle face off at Meca 9. At 3:54 in the first round, Hinkle submits to a triangle choke from Gonzaga. Gonzaga would go on to take on Randy Couture for the UFC Heavyweight Title, but would lose by TKO.

Undefeated in his first 80 professional bouts, WBC Light Welterweight Champion Julio Cesar Chavez faces 29-1 Frankie Mitchell in Las Vegas. Chavez is in control throughout the first three rounds, and puts Mitchell away in the fourth by TKO. Mitchell would lose two out of his next three bouts before retiring at the end of 1995.

At the time of Mike Tyson's match-up against undefeated IBF Heavyweight Champion Tony Tucker, he had already claimed the WBC Title from Trevor Berbick, and the WBA Title from James "Bonecrusher" Smith. Tyson continued his run through the heavyweight division, scoring a lopsided unanimous decision over Tucker, who had just won the vacant title three months earlier in a match with Buster Douglas.
