Marvin Hagler Defends Middleweight Title
In the final successful defense of his World Middleweight Championship, "Marvelous" Marvin Hagler faces number one contender among all sanctioning bodies, John "The Beast" Mugabi. The bout is fairly even on the scorecards late in the fight, with Hagler having a point deducted for low blows. The points wouldn't matter, however, as Hagler unloads in the 11th round with the knockout blow. Hagler's next bout would be his last, as he would lose a split decision to Sugar Ray Leonard in April of 1987.
